Review: Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

The Body Shop had a great deal ended last month which entitles their customer a free Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (60ml) upon any purchase. By spending RM18 for Passionberry Lip Balm, I managed to get my hands on this eye makeup remover worth RM12.80 for free.

According to The Body Shop website, they claim that this product is their best-selling mild lotion and is best to use if one wish to gentle cleanse and dissolve her eye makeup, at the same time condition her lashes.

The key ingredient for this product is definitely going to be Organic Camomile Water (stated big and eye-catching on the label anyway =P). The other ingredients are Water, Cyclomethicone, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Coco-Glucoside, Carbomer, Algae Extract, Benzyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben.

Organic Camomile Water is well-known for its calming benefits and great in cooling and soothing the skin; Algae extract is rich in minerals that help to moisturize and revitalize skin while a gentle cleansing formula containing Glycerin acts as an effective moisturizer which also cleans skin and eye lashes without over drying.

How to use?
Drop a sufficient amount of remover onto a cotton wool pad. Place the pad over the eye area for a few second and gentle sweep in a downward motion in order to remove eye makeup from the lids and lashes <AVOID dragging the skin as this may result in the formulation of lines>. Repeat with new cotton wool pad until all eye makeup are removed. Remember to follow with normal cleansing routine (cleanse, tone and moisturize).

My says:
The bottle packaging is rather simple but yet still caught my attention with their key ingredient (Camomile) and I’m so excited to give this a try after attending a wedding dinner with full makeup on. The texture is kinda watery and rather no scent. As what the product claimed, it does a great job in terms of being gentle to my skin (eyes). It is so light and doesn’t sting my eyes (this is the most important issue we all concern, don’t we?).

However, I was quite disappointed with the result. It doesn’t remove my eye makeup as easy as I do with other makeup remover. My mascara and liner are still in place. No much difference before I use the remover. Then I think maybe the amount I used is not enough and thus, I almost wet the cotton wool pad until the remover can drip out. Am I able to remove my eye makeup then? NOOO~!

I am so tired and sleepy after the wedding dinner and can't wait to jump into my bed right at that moment. I have totally lost my patience and the next thing I do is starting to rub and drag my eyes just to remove the mascara and liner @.@

This sounds so sarcastic to me as the product has a friendly reminder to avoid dragging the skin where I HAVE to do it not just only ONCE~ My mascara and liner starts falling in small tiny little pieces on my cheeks after the rubs and this become so messy in the cleaning process. Well, I guess it has performed its job for being gentle to my skin, but perhaps, too gentle??

I would never use this product again on my heavy eyes makeup to avoid this scenarios to happen again. But having said that, I think this eye makeup remover will act better on light makeup. Would try this next time and hopefully it wouldn't turn me down again.

Makeup Done by F.O.X Cosmetic

I received a wedding dinner invitation a day before the date held. Scratching my head thinking where to go for my makeup done, I suddenly remember that I have a F.O.X Cosmetic voucher (free makeup & eyebrows shaping) which the due date is on 15th Dec. Not too late to fully utilize this voucher. Yay~

F.O.X Cosmetic is also known as Fusion of Expressions. This brand is brought from Taiwan. There are variety of makeup selections to choose from. The F.O.X Cosmetic outlet I went is located at Parkson Sg Wang (just right at the entrance of parkson at the skincare/cosmetic department). Kelly, the makeup artist is a very nice person. She explains to me about the products while she is applying them on my face. She is so patient to deal with my small tiny eyes where she has to keep on thickening the gel liners and trimming the false lashes until another makeup artist (Alice) come to help out too.... Almost cut half of it, what a waste.. but what can I do? So sad with the small eyes.. Sob sob (T.T) Love them both. (I'm not going to explain step-by-step about the makeup and what the products are used during my session as all the detailed info are perfectly shared by Anna. Do have a look.)

What interested me is that all the products contain Hyaluronic Acid. I like the fact that my skin can keep moisturized while having the makeup on. Cool right? =D

Another thing that I like about the outlet I went is the makeup artists never do hard-selling. They are so friendly and kind to prepare me for the wedding dinner. I hate those who like to hard sell their products which will make me uncomfortable with. I would rather have my own sweet time for the shopping unless I ask for assistance.

p/s: Sorry for no picture uploaded for my final look. I totally forget about it as I was in a rush that day.

Today... Am Santa Claus

Earlier of the day, I joined a press screening movie "Due Date" contest organized by The Daily Chilli.

To be one of the winner, one must :
"Be among the fastest to e-mail your answers and personal details alongside the secret password: DATE "

And YES~~! I'm fast enough to qualify me to win a pair of tickets scening today at GSC 1 Utama. Yeah yeah yeah.... so happy as this is my first winning for movie tickets *winkz* Simply browsed over the internet and I found out that "Due Date" is the year's most talked about comedy, starring Robert Downey Jr, Zach Galifianakis, Jamie Foxx and Michelle Monaghan. Ok, that's all I know about the movie ( lazy me to read the synopsis =P ).

Initially I plan to reach 1 Utama earlier for window shopping since I have been quite some times not hanging around there. But I have to make a delay due to the rain (running cats and dogs) just when I'm still in dressing.

According to The Daily Chilli info, the passes redemption starts from 8pm while the movie starts screening at 9pm. To my surprise, a LOONG queu has already existed just at the time I reach (around 7.30pm). Seems like eveyone enjoys free movie ya?

The long Q(can't see the end)

While waiting in the queue, I noticed most of the people are with the The Star newspaper cut-out. Huh?? I only have an informal email with few words on : "Congrats, see ya tomorrow". Out of the sudden, I feel so uncomfortable with my standing as there are only 49 pairs passes available but I don't even sure whether my few-words email is valid for my redemption or not.... hmmmm...

But very soon I meet a kind-hearted lady telling me that she had the exactly same experience as I do and telling me that I have privilege not to queue in the long line. Instead of that, I just need to wait for The Daily Chilli's person in-charge to arrive. The best part is... I have a guaranteed seats! Sounds great ^^

Eh??  Wait a minute. Classification is at 18?

Oh-noooo~~ "Due Date" is restricted to patrons of age 18 and above!? Well, my younger sis is at 16 but I wouldn't want to leave her alone while I'm enjoying the movie. Just collect the passes and hopefully she can "sneek" in (trying our luck though we know the chance is low).

"Budak ni umur berapa?" The staff asked.
"16"
"Tak boleh masuk"

Expected. But still... it is a huge disappointment to us... We want to watch movie... together... We want to see Robert Downey Jr... haiz.... what to do? It is my mistake for not checking the movie classification before bringing my younger sis.. sorry mei mei >.<

Despite the disappointment, we decided to be someone's Santa Claus. We want to give away the preview passes. How? Randomly choose a couple. They looked so delighted and appreciate with our free passes. Their happy faces make me and my sister feel so great and all our disappointments and regrets fly away~~~

~Small Giving, Big Satisfaction ~

Merry Christmas Eveyone... HoHoHoo~~

p/s: Alhough I'm didn't manage to watch the movie, still want thanks The Daily Chilli for the free press passes

<Sorry for the blur photos, I left my camera at home>
